Why a Traveling Carillon?

The need for promotion of the carillon and its music led to the construction of carillons on mobile structures. These instruments are called traveling carillons and their uniqueness lies in the ease of mobility, making it possible for anyone, anywhere, to be able to listen to their music. At the moment, there are eighteen traveling carillons worldwide.

The LVSITANVS Carillon is the world's largest and heaviest traveling carillon. It comprises 63 bells and it weighs approximately 12 tones. It is supported by a profiled steel chassis with the dimensions of a 20' shipping container and it is placed on a flatbed semi-trailer. The entire structure of the LVSITANVS Carillon is moved by a road tractor that allows great mobility and traveling capacity.

With the LVSITANVS Carillon, it is possible to perform concerts of any music genre, from classical to popular, in a variety of settings - outdoors or indoors, solo or with other artists. Concerts by the LVSITANVS Carillon can, thus, provide enjoyable musical moments regardless of ambiance, be it in, for example, street festivities, classical music concerts, or medieval festivals.

As a novelty in both Portugal and in the Iberian Peninsula, the LVSITANVS Carillon will, we believe, catch music lovers' attention, generate interest while attracting crowds, and, consequentely, originate a new wave of music appreciation.
